What is the teeth whitening? In-office teeth whitening or at-home teeth whitening?

It is the process of lightening the existing teeth color by activating the tooth bleaching material with high intensity lights.

How to do teeth whitening?

Detalied Examination & Decision

First, a detailed examination is performed. It is decided whether the teeth whitening process is suitable or not.

Scaling & Bleaching

If the teeth can be whitened, detailed dental scaling is performed. Then, the bleaching gel is applied to the teeth and activated by waiting for about 45 minutes in high intensity lights. Activation is also achieved in a shorter time with laser instead of high intensity lights, but the sensitivity may be felt a little more intensely as a result of the procedure. After in-office whitening, teeth color is lightened by 2 to 4 shades.

Longer Lasting Whiteness

If the patient wants results to be more permanent it with at-home teeth whitening, dental impression is taken and teeth whitening kit is produced accordingly. Bleaching gel is delivered to the patient with the whitening kit. After brushing the teeth, the gel is applied to the kit and worn for 4 hours without interruption. This process takes one week.

Teeth Whitening Aftercare

Oral care should be done carefully. Teeth should be brushed gently at least twice a day, morning and evening. Dental floss should be applied. Mouthwashes which are containing colourants should not be used for 2 weeks. Should be avoided from sauced foods, acidic beverages, tea and coffe for 2 weeks. Intensely coloured fruits such as red berries, cherries and blackberries should not be consumed for 2 weeks. Do not smoking and drinking alcohol for two weeks.
